KCA University (KCAU) is seeking to recruit qualified and experienced academic staff for the positions of Professor, Associate Professor, Senior Lecturer, and Lecturer in the field of Accounting. These roles are central to building a strong academic culture of excellence, integrity, and innovation within the university. Successful candidates will be responsible for facilitating learning at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, conducting impactful research, and contributing to the university's academic and administrative growth.
General Responsibilities Across Levels
- Teaching and Learning: Facilitate undergraduate and postgraduate learning through lectures, seminars, workshops, and tutorials as assigned by the Chair of Department.
- Curriculum Development: Participate in the development, planning, and implementation of high-quality curricula for academic programs.
- Research and Funding: Lead research teams, attract research funding through grants and collaborations, and produce publications in reputable refereed journals.
- Student Mentorship: Supervise postgraduate students, provide academic guidance, and offer feedback to support student progress.
- Academic Administration: Participate in program reviews, audits, exam administration, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Institutional Leadership: Serve on university committees, boards, and the senate as required, contributing to policy formulation and decision-making.
- Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional development and participate in staff training activities to update skills.
- Records Management: Maintain accurate records of student attendance, assignments, and examination results within the university's management systems.
- Outreach: Foster partnerships and consultancy initiatives to enhance the university's visibility and impact.
Academic Rank Requirements
Professor
- Experience: At least three (3) years of continuous teaching experience at the University as an Associate Professor.
- Publications: Minimum of six (6) publications in reputable refereed journals since promotion or appointment to Associate Professor.
- Supervision: Supervised a minimum of three (3) master’s and two (2) PhD students to completion since last appointment.
- Funding: Attracted research or development funds as a Co-PI in at least two projects since last promotion.
Associate Professor
- Experience: At least three (3) years of continuous teaching experience at the University as a Senior Lecturer.
- Publications: Minimum of five (5) publications in reputable refereed journals since last promotion.
- Supervision: Supervised a minimum of three (3) Master’s and one (1) PhD students to completion since last promotion.
- Funding: Attracted research or development funds in at least two projects since last promotion.
Senior Lecturer
- Experience: At least three (3) years of continuous teaching experience at the university level as a Lecturer or six (6) years of research/industry experience.
- Publications: Minimum of four (4) publications in reputable refereed journals since last appointment.
- Supervision: Supervised at least three (3) master’s students to completion as a Lecturer.
- Funding: Attracted research or development funds in at least one project since last promotion.
Lecturer
- Experience: At least three (3) years of continuous teaching experience at the university level, in research, or in industry.
- Publications: A minimum of two (2) publications in reputable refereed scholarly journals.
