Role Overview
In 1999, Java House introduced coffee drinking and gourmet café culture to Kenya. As we grow, we continue to create spots where people can enjoy the Java experience conveniently across East Africa. We are currently seeking a Procurement Coordinator to manage the end-to-end procurement process, ensuring quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness in our acquisition of goods and services.
Duties and Responsibilities
Supplier Management: Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, maintain professional relationships, and assess vendor performance to ensure quality and reliability.
Purchase Orders: Prepare and process purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and full compliance with company standards.
Negotiation & Analysis: Conduct pricing analysis and negotiate terms and contracts with suppliers to secure the best possible deals.
Inventory Control: Track inventory levels and coordinate with relevant departments (Finance, Operations, CRM, and Warehousing) to ensure stock availability while minimizing excess inventory.
Market Research: Stay informed about market trends, pricing, and new products to make strategic procurement decisions.
Compliance: Ensure that all procurement activities comply with legal regulations and internal policies.
Reporting: Generate reports on procurement activities, vendor performance, and expenditure for management review.
General Support: Execute any other duties as assigned to the personnel.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement.
Experience: 2-3 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably within the Hospitality Industry.
Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and specialized procurement software.
Soft Skills: Strong negotiation and communication skills, excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, and highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
