The Principal Auditor (Systems & Forensic Audit) is a senior role within the Kenya Maritime Authority responsible for overseeing the integrity of the organization's information systems and conducting investigative audits. The role involves developing audit strategies, managing risk-based audit plans, and ensuring that management implements recommended actions to safeguard organizational assets.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy and Policy Development: Participate in the development of audit systems strategies, policies, and procedures, ensuring their effective implementation.
Audit Planning: Contribute to the preparation of the systems risk-based annual audit plan for approval by the Audit & Risk Management Committee.
Reporting: Prepare comprehensive systems audit reports upon completion of audit engagements to ensure timely issuance to management for implementation of recommended actions.
Monitoring and Evaluation: Evaluate the progress and effectiveness of actions taken to implement systems audit recommendations received from both internal and external audits.
Committee Support: Assist in the preparation of quarterly systems audit reports for the Board's Audit and Risk Management Committee.
Special Investigations: Execute special audits and forensic investigations as required.
Budget Management: Contribute to the preparation of the department's annual budget, and control and monitor its implementation.
Requirements and Qualifications
Professional Certification: Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA-K).
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration (Finance and Accounting option), Finance, or ICT.
A Master’s degree in Business Administration (Accounting/Finance option), ICT, Finance, or a relevant field from a recognized institution.

Advanced risk assessment and management capabilities.
Proficiency in financial and ICT audit standards.
Strong report writing and presentation skills.
Budgeting and financial monitoring skills.
