Job Description
Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral & Research Hospital (KUTRRH) is seeking to recruit three (3) qualified Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgeons. The primary purpose of this role is to deliver advanced microsurgical free-flap reconstruction, support multidisciplinary trauma and oncology care, and strengthen institutional microsurgery capacity through training and protocol development.
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform complex microsurgical free flap reconstructions for trauma, oncologic, and reconstructive cases.
Participate in multidisciplinary Tumour Boards and trauma management meetings.
Provide on-call microsurgical coverage on a rotational basis.
Mentor residents and junior surgeons in microsurgical techniques.
Contribute to the development of microsurgery protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Participate in academic activities including teaching, audits, and research.
Support the establishment of structured microsurgical training pathways.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from an institution recognized by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
Master’s Degree in Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery or an equivalent qualification from an institution recognized by KMPDC.
Sub-specialty training will be an added advantage.
Full registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
Recognition as a specialist/sub-specialist by KMPDC.
Current retention in the KMPDC register.
Valid Practice License from KMPDC.
Valid Professional Indemnity Cover.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Compliance with the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
