Role Overview
Baus Optical Limited is a locally registered Kenyan company specializing in the retailing and dispensing of quality optical products and services since 2003. This is a full-time, on-site Optometrist position located in Nairobi County and Kilifi, Kenya. The Optometrist is responsible for providing high-quality eye care services and maintaining excellent patient relations.
Key Responsibilities
Comprehensive Eye Examinations: Perform thorough eye exams to assess vision and ocular health.
Diagnosis: Identify vision-related issues and determine the appropriate corrective measures.
Prescription & Solutions: Provide prescriptions for eyeglasses or contact lenses and advise on the best product options.
Patient Education: Educate patients on maintaining eye health and understanding their optical needs.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with the retail team to ensure a seamless and superior customer experience.
Community Outreach: Actively participate in community initiatives, including mobile clinics and free consultations.
Follow-ups: Conduct follow-up appointments to monitor patient progress.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Optometry or an equivalent field.
Licensure: Must possess a valid practicing license recognized in Kenya.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in performing eye examinations and diagnosing visual impairments.
Product Knowledge: Strong understanding of dispensing optical products, including lenses, frames, and specialty eyewear.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective patient education and teamwork.
Ethics: High commitment to professional ethics and patient care standards.
Experience: Experience in community outreach programs or mobile clinics is a plus.
