Job Description
The County Government of Kitui is seeking to recruit six (6) qualified individuals for the position of Pharmaceutical Technologist III. Kitui County is located 170Km to the South East of Nairobi City, covering an area of about 30,496 km2. This role involves supporting pharmaceutical operations within the county's health facilities through the management of prescriptions, patient guidance, and inventory maintenance.
Duties and Responsibilities
Receiving, interpreting, and processing prescriptions to ensure accurate medication dispensing.
Recording prescriptions in a pharmacy unit for proper documentation and tracking.
Pre-packing, repacking, and writing clear usage instructions on medication labels.
Counselling patients on the correct usage, dosage, and storage of drugs in a pharmacy unit.
Maintaining accurate drug registers and record books.
Conducting monthly stock taking of drugs and medicinal devices to ensure inventory accuracy.
Requirements for Appointment
Be a Citizen of Kenya.
Hold a Diploma in either Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Technology (or an equivalent qualification approved by the relevant professional body) from a recognized institution.
Possess a Certificate of enrolment as a Pharmaceutical Technologist awarded by the relevant professional body.
Possess a Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
