Paediatric Dentist

Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral & Research Hospital (KUTRRH) is seeking a Paediatric Dentist to provide specialized dental care for children. The hospital is a leading National Referral Hospital with a 650-bed capacity, offering state-of-the-art medical amenities including Oncology, Trauma & Orthopedics, and Renal services. The Paediatric Dentist will be responsible for providing comprehensive preventive, restorative, and interceptive dental care for infants, children, and adolescents, including those with special health needs.\n\n### Key Responsibilities and Duties:\n- Conduct comprehensive paediatric dental assessments and formulate age-appropriate treatment plans.\n- Provide restorative, endodontic, minor surgical, and interceptive orthodontic care for children.\n- Manage dental emergencies, dental trauma, and dental pain in paediatric patients.\n- Deliver behaviour guidance and, where indicated, sedation/GA care in collaboration with the anaesthesia department.\n- Educate caregivers on preventive oral health and caries-risk management.\n- Participate in community oral health promotion and school-based initiatives.\n- Supervise and mentor dental officers, interns, and students.\n- Contribute to clinical audits, research, and quality improvement initiatives in paediatric dentistry.\n\n### Qualifications and Requirements:\n- Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from an institution recognized by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).\n- Master of Dental Surgery in Paediatric Dentistry or equivalent qualification from a KMPDC-recognized institution.\n- Official registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).\n- Recognition as a specialist or sub-specialist by the KMPDC.\n- Current retention in the KMPDC register.\n- Valid Practice License and Indemnity Cover from KMPDC.\n- Proficiency in computer applications.\n- Full compliance with the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.\n\n### How to Apply:\nInterested and qualified candidates should apply online via the official Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral & Research Hospital recruitment portal at .
