Operations Team Member - Kisumu

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver food orders from the kitchen to tables promptly and accurately.
• Ensure food presentation, temperature, and quality meet restaurant standards.
• Communicate with kitchen and service staff regarding order status and guest needs.
• Maintain cleanliness of waiter stations, dining areas, guest and staff washrooms, and the restaurant.
• Always follow food safety, sanitation guidelines, and correct use of detergents.
• Assist with restocking condiments and support opening and closing duties as assigned.
• Maintain clean, tidy, and working tables at all times.
• Present menu options and take the lead on suggestive selling based on customer preferences.
• Consistently follow set Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) during production.
• Take orders, deliver them accurately to tables according to ticket specifications, present bills on time, and accept payments.
• Clean pots, pans, cutlery, crockery, equipment, and machines, and sanitize the general kitchen.
• Ensure proper waste management by disposing of bins and cleaning grease traps.
• Prepare, present, and correctly store food to maintain right quality.
• Assist wait staff during busy shifts to reduce customer wait time and ensure meals are served hot and fresh.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Must have a KCSE certificate with a mean grade of C (plain).
• Minimum 6 months of working experience as a certified Java House Staff.
• In-house training in service.
• Demonstrated interest in the hospitality industry.
• Strong planning, problem-solving, and quick decision-making skills under pressure.
• Highly flexible, responsible, reliable, and a strong team player.
• Customer-oriented with excellent customer care techniques.
• Ability to upsell and inform guests about new menu products.
• Result-oriented, self-driven, articulate, and proactive.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle long hours.
