Job Description
Java House is seeking a Senior Barista to oversee branch barista counter operations, coordinate the preparation of high-quality handcrafted coffee and beverages, and mentor branch staff to achieve coffee excellence.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Oversee all branch operations with a special focus on the barista counter.
Coordinate and supervise production and service of quality beverages and serve fresh bakery items.
Coordinate training at the branch level on achieving Coffee Excellence and consistency among all branch staff.
Supervise, train, and evaluate trainee baristas at the branch level.
Advise management on counter equipment performance and replacement needs.
Monitor branch food/beverage costs in relation to counter products.
Prepare and serve hot and cold drinks such as coffee, tea, artisan, and specialty beverages.
Handle customer interactions across various touchpoints to ensure a positive experience.
Consistently follow set Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) during production.
Maintain a clean, tidy, and functional counter at all times.
Perform daily stock takes of counter products at the end of each shift.
Ensure sufficient supply of products for sale at the counter by maintaining adequate backups.
Ensure all take-away and eat-in orders are dispensed promptly according to order dockets.
Arrange and clean the pastry case consistently.
Reconfirm orders processed on Vuka.
Control wastage and ensure timely closure of counter variances.
Maintain shift float money and prevent shortages.
Maintain counter machines and perform daily stock checks accurately.
Carry out any other tasks as instructed by the supervisor.
