Job Description
Taita Taveta County Public Service Board is seeking to recruit two (2) Nutrition and Dietetics Officers on Permanent & Pensionable terms. The officers will be tasked with providing clinical nutrition and dietetic services within the county's healthcare framework. The basic salary scale for this position will be as provided for by the Salaries and Remunerations Commission (SRC).
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Provision of clinical nutrition and dietetic services in healthcare facilities.
Conducting nutritional assessments and screenings of patients to identify needs.
Planning and implementing therapeutic diet interventions for various health conditions.
Developing and managing community-based nutrition programs.
Educating and counseling patients and the public on nutrition, healthy eating habits, and disease management.
Monitoring and evaluating the outcomes of nutritional interventions.
Ensuring quality control and safety standards in hospital food service operations.
Qualifications and Requirements for Appointment
Bachelor's Degree in any of the following disciplines: Foods, Nutrition and Dietetics, Dietetics/Clinical Nutrition, Food Science and Nutrition, or Home Economics from a recognized institution.
Must be registered by the Kenya Nutrition and Dietetics Institute (KNDI).
Must possess a Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
Valid identification document (National ID or Passport).
