Nursing Officers - Locums

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients, including assessing their physical, emotional, and psychological needs.
• Regularly monitor vital signs (temperature, pulse, blood pressure, respiratory rate) and assess general health conditions.
• Administer prescribed medications, injections, and intravenous (IV) fluids accurately as per doctor's orders.
• Prioritize nursing care for critically ill patients based on clinical assessment data.
• Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control practices and hospital safety policies.
• Ensure accurate, comprehensive, and timely documentation of all assessment data, investigation results, and patient/family interactions.
• Participate in nursing education activities, quality improvement (QI) projects, audits, and skill checks.
• Contribute to data collection and monitoring of department quality indicators.
• Carry out audits on International Patient Safety Goals (IPSG) and infection prevention measures.
• Uphold statutory regulations required by the Nursing Council of Kenya and national laws.
• Safeguard hospital and patient confidentiality and property.

Requirements and Qualifications

• A Diploma in KRN, KRM, KRCHN, or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) from a recognized institution.
• Must possess a valid Nursing practice license from the Nursing Council of Kenya.
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience in a clinical setting.
• Must be BLS (Basic Life Support) certified.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in administrative tasks and a strong commitment to customer care.
