Neonatal Care: Provide holistic, evidence-based nursing care to neonates in the NICU.
Monitoring and Treatment: Monitor vital signs, administer medications, initiate and manage feeds (including NG/OG/IV feeds), and maintain accurate records.
Emergency Support: Assist in neonatal resuscitation and participate in emergency interventions.
Maternal Support: Provide Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) support and empower mothers on newborn care.
Infection Control: Maintain infection prevention and control practices according to hospital policy.
Collaboration: Collaborate with paediatricians, neonatologists, midwives, and multidisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes.
Family-Centred Care: Support family-centred care, counselling mothers/guardians on breastfeeding, routine care, and discharge planning.
Professional Development: Participate in continuous professional development, quality improvement initiatives, and audits.

Established in 1952, the Aga Khan Hospital in Kisumu is a 61-bed acute care facility part of the Aga Khan Health Services (AKHS). Reporting to the Manager – Paediatrics Services, the successful candidate will provide specialized nursing care to newborns requiring intensive monitoring, including premature infants, low birth weight babies, and those with congenital or medical complications.
