Job Description
The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) is a part-time constitutional commission established under Article 171 of the Constitution of Kenya. JSC is seeking to recruit a Member for the Industrial Property Tribunal as a Non-Advocate.
Role Overview
The Member of the Industrial Property Tribunal (Non-Advocate) will be responsible for resolving disputes relating to industrial property, leveraging their specialized background in scientific, technological, and industrial fields to make informed determinations.
Requirements and Qualifications
Pursuant to Section 113 (3) of the Industrial Property Act, CAP 509, applicants must possess the following qualifications:
Hold a bachelor's degree in any of the following disciplines: Natural Sciences, Biological Sciences, Geological Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline from a university recognized in Kenya.
Must have experience or expertise in industrial, scientific, and technological fields.
Qualification and experience in alternative dispute resolution will be an added advantage.
Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya on leadership and integrity.
