ADHOC Member Political Parties Disputes Tribunal– (Advocate)
The Judicial Service Commission invites applications for the position of ADHOC Member (Advocate) of the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal. The successful candidate will participate in resolving political party disputes, ensuring alignment with constitutional and statutory provisions under the Political Parties Act, No. 11 of 2011.
Key Responsibilities
Adjudicate over disputes arising from the implementation of political parties' constitutions, coalitions, and nominations.
Review legal arguments, analyze evidence, and deliver legally sound rulings and determinations.
Employ alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mechanisms where applicable to resolve political conflicts.
Ensure strict compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution on leadership and integrity throughout tribunal operations.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education: Hold a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized university.
Diploma: Have a post-graduate Diploma in law from the Kenya School of Law or a recognized equivalent institution.
Experience: Have at least seven (7) years of post-admission experience as an advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
Disqualification Criteria: Must not be a public officer or hold any office in a political party.
Added Advantage: Qualification and experience in alternative dispute resolution (ADR).
Integrity: Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya on leadership and integrity.
