Job Description
The Nakuru County Government is seeking a Medical Specialist I – Internal Medicine to join its health services department. This role involves providing high-level specialized medical care, managing patient rehabilitation, and contributing to the broader health infrastructure through research and training. The successful candidate will be responsible for complex diagnostic procedures, specialized clinical interventions, and the coordination of health education programs within the county.
Responsibilities
Undertaking general diagnosis, care, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients
Carrying out specialized clinical care
Providing psycho-social interventions
Providing clinical services to patients
Training, consulting, and conducting surgeries in various health facilities
Carrying out forensic and medical-legal services
Coordinating health education and promotion
Implementing health projects and programs
Maintaining up-to-date health information systems
Monitoring provision of health treatment care
Undertaking health research
Analysing medical reports
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from an institution recognized by Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board
Masters in Internal Medicine from an institution recognized by Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board
Certificate of registration by the Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board
Valid practicing license by the Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board
Valid specialist recognition from the Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board
Certificate in Computer Application Skills
Demonstrated professional competence and administrative capability in managing health services
