Job Description
The County Government of Kitui is seeking to recruit qualified individuals for the position of Medical Social Worker III. The role involves providing essential psychosocial support within the county's health facilities to ensure patients receive holistic care that addresses both their physical and mental well-being.
Responsibilities
Psychosocial Support: Addressing the psychosocial effects related to a patient's diagnosis, prognosis, and future resettlement.
Counselling: Providing professional counselling services to patients, particularly those affected by pandemic diseases, mental illness, HIV/AIDS, epilepsy, and other chronic conditions.
Patient Resettlement: Assisting in the planning and execution of patient resettlement and community reintegration post-treatment.
Requirements
Must be a Citizen of Kenya.
Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C (Plain) or its equivalent qualification.
Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Anthropology, Mental Health, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
