Job Description
The County Government of Kitui is recruiting for the position of Medical Laboratory Technologist III. This role is essential for providing diagnostic services through the examination of specimens and the management of laboratory data to support clinical decision-making and patient care within the county's health facilities.
Responsibilities and Duties
Decontaminating working benches.
Receiving and scrutinizing laboratory requisition forms and specimens.
Preparing clients for the collection of specimens.
Receiving, collecting, labeling, and registering specimens.
Disaggregating specimens for processing and analyses.
Preparing reagents.
Examining specimens.
Writing and recording of results.
Dispatching the results for use in clinical management.
Preparing stains.
Performing blood grouping.
Issuing blood and blood products to peripheral health facilities.
Storing blood products according to the requirements.
Requirements and Qualifications
Be a Citizen of Kenya.
Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences or any other equivalent qualification from an institution recognized by the relevant professional body.
Registration certificate issued by the relevant professional body.
Valid practicing license from the relevant professional body.
Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
