Job Description
The County Government of Tharaka Nithi is seeking to recruit twenty-five (25) Medical Laboratory Technologists [3]. These officers will be responsible for offering essential diagnostic and laboratory services within the healthcare framework of the county. The roles involve technical laboratory work, patient guidance, and efficient resource management to ensure high standards of health care delivery.
Responsibilities
Provide Medical Laboratory Services according to the designated level of care.
Offer guidance and counseling to patients, clients, and staff on relevant health issues.
Refer patients and clients to the appropriate health facilities as required.
Coach and mentor students during their clinical attachments.
Organize health management teams and participate in health management committee meetings.
Collect and compile data to support research on laboratory service improvements.
Order laboratory supplies and monitor the usage of commodities to prevent stock-outs.
Strictly observe and maintain Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) protocols.
Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Requirements for Appointment
Must be a Kenyan citizen.
Holder of a Diploma in Medical Laboratory from a recognized training institution.
Registered with the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB).
Possess a valid and current Practicing License from KMLTTB.
Proficiency in computer applications.
