Bwasco Water & Sewerage PLC is a public water and sanitation service provider in Bungoma County. The company is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Manager, Legal. This role is responsible for overseeing institutional and legal affairs, providing expert guidance on company governance, and managing legal representation for the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise the Managing Director and the Board of Directors (BoD) on institutional and legal affairs and matters of company governance.
• Coordinate the representation of the company and the BoD in court proceedings.
• Provide appropriate instructions to appointed external counsels and maintain continuous liaison with the external counsel on record on matters assigned.
• Render legal opinions on matters before or relating to the company and provide comprehensive legal advice on all legal issues.
• Deliver legal advice to the Board, Management, and the company at large.
• Liaise with the Office of the County Attorney on matters involving the company.
• Commission and oversee legal research on matters relevant to company operations.
• Develop annual departmental work plans, training schedules, and procurement plans to guide operations.
• Ensure efficient and effective utilization of resources within the legal department.
• Ensure the safety and security of office supplies and equipment within the department.
• Develop and manage the section budget.

Entry Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB).
• Must be an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
• Possess a current and valid practicing certificate.
• Minimum of three (3) years post-admission experience.
• Membership in the Institute of Certified Public Secretary (ICPS) will be considered an added advantage.
