We are looking to recruit a qualified Lecturer in Surgery to join our academic team. The primary purpose of this role is to train high-level human resources to meet the development needs of Kenya and the international labor market, while sustaining high-quality research, consultancy, and the dissemination of knowledge and skills.
Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality academic instruction and clinical training in the field of Surgery.
Conduct original research and contribute to the university's research output in refereed scholarly journals.
Participate in conference proceedings and academic forums.
Provide consultancy services within the area of specialization.
Disseminate knowledge, skills, and competencies to students and the wider community.
Carry out administrative duties and other responsibilities as may be assigned by the department or university management.
Requirements for Appointment
To be eligible for appointment, candidates must meet the following criteria:
A doctorate degree (Ph.D.) in a relevant field from an accredited/recognized institution.
Master of Medicine (MMed) or Master of Dental Surgery (MDS), along with Specialist training.
A minimum of twelve (12) research publication output points from refereed scholarly journals and two (2) points from publications in conference proceedings; OR
A minimum of thirty-two (32) publication points if the applicant is from a research institution; OR
A minimum of six (6) publication points if the applicant is from practice/industry.
Evidence of recognition and registration by the relevant regulatory body where applicable (e.g., Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board).
Evidence of membership or affiliation with a relevant professional body.
