Kisii University, a world-class institution dedicated to the advancement of social welfare, research, and academic excellence, is seeking to recruit a Lecturer in Public Health. The primary objective of this role is to train high-level human resources that meet the development needs of Kenya and the international labor market. The successful candidate will be expected to sustain the production of high-quality research and consultancy while disseminating knowledge, skills, and competencies in the field of public health.
Responsibilities and Duties
Instructing and lecturing undergraduate and postgraduate students in Public Health.
Conducting high-quality research and publishing findings in refereed scholarly journals.
Engaging in consultancy services and disseminating knowledge within the academic and professional communities.
Contributing to the development and training of human resources to meet national and international labor market demands.
Participating in departmental and university-wide academic activities.
Requirements for Appointment
To be eligible for appointment to the position of Lecturer, the candidate must have:
A doctorate degree (Ph.D) from an accredited/recognized institution.
A minimum of twelve (12) research publication output points from refereed scholarly journals and two (2) points from publications in conference proceedings.
OR A minimum of thirty-two (32) publication points if the applicant is from a research institution.
OR A minimum of six (6) publication points if the applicant is from practice/industry.
Evidence of recognition and registration by the relevant regulatory body where applicable.
Evidence of membership or affiliation with a relevant professional body where applicable.
