Kisii University is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Medical Surgical Nursing. The role is centered on training high-level human resources to meet the development needs of the country and the international labor market. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing academic instruction, conducting high-quality research and consultancy, and disseminating knowledge and competencies in the field of medical-surgical nursing.
Responsibilities
Deliver lectures and provide clinical instruction in Medical Surgical Nursing specialties.
Conduct original research and publish findings in refereed scholarly journals.
Supervise and mentor students in their academic and clinical research projects.
Participate in the development and review of nursing curricula.
Engage in consultancy and community service outreach programs.
Ensure all teaching and clinical practices align with the standards set by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: An MSc degree in Medical Surgical Nursing or a relevant specialty from an accredited or recognized institution. A Doctorate degree (PhD) in the relevant field is considered an added advantage.
Research and Publications:
For Academic applicants: A minimum of twelve (12) research publication output points from refereed scholarly journals and two (2) points from publications in conference proceedings.
For Research institution applicants: A minimum of thirty-two (32) publication points.
For Practice/Industry applicants: A minimum of six (6) publication points.
Professional Registration: Evidence of recognition and registration by the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) is mandatory.
Professional Affiliation: Evidence of membership or affiliation with a relevant professional body where applicable.
