Kisii University is seeking a qualified and dedicated individual to join its faculty as a Lecturer in Human Pathology. This role is central to the university's mission of training high-level human resources and sustaining the production of high-quality research. The successful candidate will be responsible for academic instruction, conducting significant research, and participating in the administrative growth of the institution.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality lectures and clinical instruction in Human Pathology to students.
Conduct original research and contribute to the university's publication output in refereed scholarly journals.
Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects and dissertations.
Participate in the development and review of academic curricula.
Carry out administrative duties and other responsibilities as assigned by the department or university management from time to time.
Engage in consultancy and knowledge dissemination within the field of pathology.
Maintain active membership and affiliation with relevant professional and regulatory bodies.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: A doctorate degree (Ph.D.) from an accredited/recognized institution.
Specialized Training: Must possess an MMed or MDS, along with specialist training in the relevant field.
Research & Publications:
A minimum of twelve (12) research publication output points from refereed scholarly journals and two (2) points from publications in conference proceedings.
OR a minimum of thirty-two (32) publication points if the applicant is from a research institution.
OR a minimum of six (6) publication points if the applicant is from practice or industry.
Professional Standing: Evidence of recognition and registration by the relevant regulatory body where applicable.
Affiliations: Evidence of membership or affiliation with the relevant professional body where applicable.
