Tom Mboya University is seeking to recruit qualified and experienced individuals for the position of Lecturer in History (2 Posts). The role involves teaching at the university level, conducting high-quality research, and contributing to the academic development of the History department. Candidates are expected to be active in scholarly publication and professional activities within their field.
Responsibilities and Duties
Delivering lectures and conducting tutorials for undergraduate and potentially postgraduate students in History.
Engaging in continuous research and contributing to the body of knowledge through scholarly publications.
Participating in curriculum development and review to ensure academic programs remain relevant and rigorous.
Supervising student research projects and providing academic mentorship.
Contributing to departmental and university committees and administrative functions.
Maintaining active membership and participation in relevant professional bodies.
Requirements for Appointment
Must have an earned Ph.D. or equivalent degree qualification in History from an accredited and recognized university.
At least three (3) years of teaching experience at the university level or in a research or industry setting.
A minimum of twenty-four (24) publication points, with at least sixteen (16) points derived from refereed scholarly journals.
Must be registered with a relevant professional body, where applicable.
