Tom Mboya University is seeking to recruit two (2) Lecturers in the field of Data Science. The successful candidates will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction to students, contributing to the university's research output through scholarly publications, and participating in the academic life of the institution. This role requires a strong background in Data Science and a commitment to academic excellence.
Responsibilities
Deliver lectures and tutorials in Data Science and related subjects.
Conduct original research in the field of Data Science and related areas.
Publish research findings in refereed scholarly journals.
Develop and update course materials and curricula.
Supervise and mentor undergraduate and postgraduate students in their research projects.
Participate in departmental and university committees.
Engage in professional development and keep up-to-date with industry trends.
Requirements
Academic Qualifications: Must have an earned Ph.D. or equivalent degree qualification in Data Science or a relevant field from an accredited and recognized university.
Experience: At least three (3) years of teaching experience at the university level or equivalent experience in research or the industry.
Research and Publications: A minimum of twenty-four (24) publication points, with at least sixteen (16) of those points coming from refereed scholarly journals.
Professional Membership: Registration with a relevant professional body is required where applicable.
