Kisii University is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Lecturer in Community Health. The primary purpose of this role is to train high-level human resources that meet the development needs of the country and the international labor market, while sustaining the production of high-quality research, consultancy, and the dissemination of knowledge and competencies.
Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality teaching and instruction to students in the field of Community Health.
Conduct and sustain high-quality research and consultancy services.
Disseminate knowledge, skills, and competencies through academic forums and publications.
Supervise student research and academic progress.
Participate in the development and review of curricula within the department.
Engage in community outreach and professional development activities as required by the university.
Requirements for Appointment
To be eligible for appointment to the position of Lecturer, the candidate must possess:
An MSc degree in the relevant area from an accredited/recognized institution.
A minimum of twelve (12) research publication output points from refereed scholarly journals and two (2) points from publications in conference proceedings.
OR A minimum of thirty-two (32) publication points if the applicant is from a research institution.
OR A minimum of six (6) publication points if the applicant is from practice/industry.
Evidence of recognition and registration by the relevant regulatory body (Nursing Council of Kenya).
Evidence of membership or affiliation with the relevant professional body where applicable.
A doctorate degree (PhD) will be considered an added advantage.
