Kisii University is seeking to recruit a Lecturer in Clinical Chemistry. The primary purpose of this role is to train high-level human resource that meets the development needs of both the country and the international labor market, while sustaining the production of high-quality research, consultancy, and knowledge dissemination.
Responsibilities and Duties
Deliver academic lectures and practical training in Clinical Chemistry to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Conduct and publish high-quality research in refereed scholarly journals and conference proceedings.
Mentor and supervise student research projects and theses.
Contribute to the development and review of academic curricula within the department.
Participate in university consultancy services and knowledge dissemination initiatives.
Engage in departmental and university-wide administrative duties and committee meetings.
Ensure all teaching and laboratory activities comply with regulatory standards set by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB).
Requirements for Appointment
To be eligible for appointment to the position of Lecturer, the candidate must have:
A doctorate degree (PhD) from an accredited/recognized institution.
An MSc degree in the relevant area (Clinical Chemistry) from an accredited/recognized institution.
A minimum of twelve (12) research publication output points from refereed scholarly journals and two (2) points from publications in conference proceedings, OR
A minimum of thirty-two (32) publication points if the applicant is from a research institution, OR
A minimum of six (6) publication points if the applicant is from practice/industry.
Evidence of recognition and registration by the relevant regulatory body, the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB).
Evidence of membership or affiliation with a relevant professional body where applicable.
