Tom Mboya University is seeking to recruit two (2) qualified and experienced individuals for the position of Lecturer in Chemical Engineering. The successful candidates will be responsible for academic instruction, research, and contributing to the university's engineering faculty. The university, which originated from the Maseno University Learning Centre in Homa Bay, is committed to academic excellence and professional development within the engineering field.
Responsibilities and Duties
Deliver high-quality lectures and facilitate learning for students in Chemical Engineering.
Conduct original research in the relevant field and publish findings in refereed scholarly journals.
Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research and practical projects.
Develop and review academic curricula to ensure alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the administrative functions of the University.
Engage with professional bodies and industry stakeholders to enhance the engineering programs.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education: An earned Ph.D. or equivalent degree qualification in Chemical Engineering or a relevant field from an accredited and recognized university.
Experience: At least three (3) years of teaching experience at the university level or significant experience in research or the industry.
Publications: A minimum of twenty-four (24) publication points, of which at least sixteen (16) must be from refereed scholarly journals.
Professional Membership: Registered with the relevant professional body (where applicable).
