Tom Mboya University is seeking to recruit two (2) Lecturers in the field of Building Technology/Building Science. This is a key academic position requiring a combination of teaching excellence, research productivity, and professional engagement. The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, supervising student research, and contributing to the university's academic and research output.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and deliver lectures and tutorials to undergraduate and potentially postgraduate students in Building Technology and Building Science.
Conduct original research and publish findings in peer-reviewed, refereed scholarly journals.
Supervise student research projects, theses, and practical work.
Develop, review, and update academic curricula to maintain relevance and quality.
Participate in departmental meetings, university committees, and other administrative activities.
Provide mentorship and academic guidance to students.
Engage with relevant professional bodies and industry stakeholders.
Requirements for Appointment
Candidates must fulfill the following criteria:
Education: An earned Ph.D. or equivalent degree qualification in Building Technology, Building Science, or a relevant field from an accredited and recognized university.
Experience: At least three (3) years of teaching experience at the university level or equivalent experience in research or the industry.
Research Output: A minimum of twenty-four (24) publication points, with at least sixteen (16) of these coming from refereed scholarly journals.
Professionalism: Registration with a relevant professional body (where applicable).
