Kisii University is seeking to recruit a Laboratory Technologist (Biochemistry Technologist) for the position of Senior Technologist II. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the university's academic and research functions within the biochemistry department, ensuring efficient laboratory operations and providing technical assistance for practical training and scientific inquiries.
Requirements for Appointment
To be eligible for appointment to the position of Senior Technologist II, the candidate must meet the following criteria:
Education: Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry or a relevant field from a recognized institution.
Experience: A minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a laboratory technologist in a relevant field or within a busy hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
Preparation of laboratory reagents, samples, and equipment for practical sessions and research activities.
Assisting students and faculty members during laboratory experiments and research projects.
Ensuring proper maintenance and calibration of laboratory instruments and equipment.
Adherence to strict laboratory safety protocols and waste disposal regulations.
Maintaining accurate inventory records of laboratory supplies and chemicals.
Contributing to the production of high-quality research data and academic excellence.
