Job Description
Peoplelink Consultants Ltd is seeking a dedicated Lab Technologist to manage molecular diagnostic and laboratory equipment. The role involves technical setup, training, and ongoing maintenance to support molecular diagnostic workflows, specifically focused on TB and lung health.
Responsibilities
Install, configure, and commission molecular diagnostic and laboratory equipment.
Train laboratory personnel on equipment use, maintenance, and biosafety protocols.
Perform equipment calibration, validation, and preventive maintenance.
Provide onsite and virtual technical support to resolve equipment breakdowns.
Ensure adherence to laboratory quality assurance standards and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Technical Competencies & Skills
In-depth knowledge of TB diagnostic workflows and molecular diagnostics.
Expert ability to troubleshoot and repair laboratory diagnostic equipment.
Strong understanding of laboratory biosafety and quality management systems.
Experience in developing laboratory-specific SOPs and training materials.
Excellent report-writing skills and meticulous documentation of equipment logs.
Requirements
Education: Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences/Technology.
Registration: Must be registered and licensed by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB) or a relevant professional board.
Experience: Prior experience in TB/Lung health diagnostics is a significant advantage.
Travel: Willingness to travel extensively to remote health facilities.
