The Junior Legal Consultant will support the Legal Unit in the development, refinement, and organization of legal templates, standard operating procedures, and internal guidance materials. This role involves maintaining legal databases, conducting policy research, and providing administrative support for legal meetings and training sessions.\n\n### Key Responsibilities\n- Support the development and organization of legal templates and standard operating procedures.\n- Maintain and update legal databases, case management systems, and document repositories.\n- Support knowledge management initiatives, including legal resources for internal and external use.\n- Provide administrative support for legal meetings, workshops, and training, including drafting agendas and minutes.\n- Conduct legal and policy research on administrative law and institutional legal frameworks.\n- Assist Legal Officers in reviewing agreements and legal documents and tracking key legal issues.\n- Draft background notes, legal memos, and templates under guidance.\n- Act as a backup to the Legal Assistant for filing, docketing, and scheduling.\n- Assist in onboarding and knowledge-sharing for new staff and interns.\n\n### Requirements and Qualifications\n- First level university degree in law; a practicing certificate is desirable.\n- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in legal research, practice, or advisory services.\n- Experience in database management and drafting legal advice is required.\n- Experience working in an international context is desirable.\n\n### How to Apply\nInterested and qualified candidates should apply online via the official United Nations careers portal.
