The Capital Markets Authority (CMA) is a statutory agency responsible for regulating and developing efficient Capital Markets in Kenya. The Authority is seeking to recruit a qualified intern for the Market Supervision department for a period of one year (non-renewable). Reporting to the Deputy Director Market Supervision, the selected candidate will support regulatory and inspection functions.
Responsibilities
Conducting onsite and offsite inspection activities in accordance with risk-based supervision methodologies and approved plans and preparing reports.
Assisting in conducting risk-profiling activities for regulated persons and preparing reports.
Maintaining a database on compliance by regulated entities with regulatory requirements.
Maintaining accurate, up-to-date and detailed electronic information database for regulated persons and periodically perform trend analysis.
Conducting research on best practices on market supervision including AML/CFT (Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism) practices.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Law (LLB), Finance, Economics, Commerce, Business Management, ICT, Agriculture, Actuarial Science, Mathematics/Statistics & Accounting or equivalent qualifications from a recognized and accredited institution.
