Role Overview
The Intern will support CRS’s scope of work for the CORE Group Polio Project (CGPP). Under the supervision and mentorship of the Program Manager and Ministry of Health (MOH) staff, the intern will assist in coordinating project activities within Nairobi County. This role is designed to provide practical exposure to public health programming, disease surveillance, and immunization initiatives, while offering structured mentorship and supportive supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in coordinating and implementing community and health facility-based CGPP project activities in line with CRS program quality principles and donor requirements.
Contribute to monitoring and reporting challenges or gaps identified, supporting adjustments to plans and schedules.
Support accountability by assisting MOH in collecting and analyzing project data and preparing reports per established schedules.
Provide logistical and technical support for capacity-building activities with County and Sub-County MOH staff.
Assist in project documentation, including case studies and reports on promising practices.
Maintain supportive working relations with government ministries and stakeholders to coordinate the adoption of new approaches in polio eradication.
Participate in technical working groups and forums to stay updated on new developments in immunization and disease surveillance.

Strengthen understanding of the Government of Kenya's health policies and guidelines.

Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, or a related field.
Exposure to disease surveillance, immunization programs, or community mobilization through coursework, attachment, or volunteer experience is an added advantage.
Experience using MS Windows and MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
