The Kenya Bankers is seeking an innovative and strategic Human Resource Officer to oversee human capital management in compliance with existing laws and legislation while driving transformational change and excellence. The society was formed mainly to provide affordable financial services to its members and customers for wealth creation through deposit mobilization and prudent management.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate end-to-end recruitment processes including job analysis, advertising, shortlisting, interviewing and reference checks.
- Manage onboarding, induction and talent development programs to ensure effective employee integration.
- Provide advisory support on employee relations including grievance handling, disciplinary procedures and conflict resolution.
- Promote a positive work culture aligned with the Sacco’s core values of Integrity, Innovation, Reliability and Agility.
- Coordinate implementation of the performance management system including KPIs, quarterly and annual appraisals.
- Support line managers in identifying performance gaps and implementing improvement plans.
- Conduct training needs analysis and coordinate the annual training calendar.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in both physical and digital HRIS.
- Prepare monthly HR reports on key metrics.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (NSSF, SHA, PAYE, HELB, etc.) and timely remittance.
- Manage payroll processing in liaison with Finance and external payroll providers.
- Review and update HR policies, procedures, code of conduct and Staff Handbook as needed.
- Support change management initiatives and organizational restructuring exercises.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Social Sciences or related field.
- Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) or equivalent qualification.
- Registered member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) in good standing.
- Minimum of four (4) years’ progressive HR experience in a busy HR environment.
- Experience in financial services, Sacco sector or regulated institution is an added advantage.
- Proven experience in HRIS and payroll systems.
- Sound knowledge of Kenyan labour laws and employment best practices.
