Role Overview
As a Housekeeping Supervisor at Marriott, you will play a critical role in maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction that our brand is known for. You will inspect guest rooms, public areas, and facilities to ensure they meet quality standards. Beyond inspection, you will act as a key coordinator between Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry departments to ensure seamless operations. You will also assist management in leadership tasks, including staff training, scheduling, and motivation.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Quality Control: Inspect guest rooms, public areas, pools, and other facilities after cleaning to ensure strict adherence to quality and brand standards.
Operational Management: Run sold room reports, verify room status, prioritize cleaning tasks, and update the status of departing guest rooms.
Coordination: Act as a liaison between Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry to resolve room discrepancies and maintenance issues.
Documentation: Prepare and distribute room assignments, document issues for the next shift, and complete all required administrative paperwork.
Staff Leadership: Assist in hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating staff. Provide coaching, counseling, and motivation to team members to ensure a high-performing environment.
Guest Relations: Welcome and acknowledge all guests, anticipate their needs, and assist individuals with disabilities with genuine appreciation.
Safety and Compliance: Follow all company safety and security policies; report accidents or maintenance hazards; ensure staff maintain clean and professional uniforms.
Physical Tasks: Move and lift objects up to 55 lbs, push/pull loaded carts, and remain standing or walking for the duration of the shift.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education: Diploma or Certificate in Hospitality Management or a related field.
Supervisory Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory role.
Work Experience: A minimum of 3 to 4 years of experience in a housekeeping role.
Environment: Previous experience in a hotel or luxury service environment (4- or 5-star hotel) is highly desirable.
Technical Skills: Ability to enter and locate information using computer systems and/or point of sale (POS) systems.
Physical Requirements: Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, bend, twist, pull, and stoop. Ability to perform tasks requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
