The Fundraising Intern will support the Partnership team in donor research, proposal development, donor communications, and fundraising campaigns. This role provides hands-on experience in NGO fundraising, grant development, and donor engagement while contributing to the organization’s sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities
Donor Research & Opportunity Identification
Conduct donor, foundation, and corporate research to identify funding opportunities aligned with inABLE’s strategic priorities.
Support mapping of donors by thematic focus, geography, and funding cycles.
Proposal & Grant Development Support
Assist in drafting and reviewing fundraising proposals, concept notes, expressions of interest, and grant applications.
Support the compilation of proposal annexes, budgets (in coordination with finance), and supporting documentation.
Contribute to donor reports, including narrative progress updates and impact summaries.
Donor Communications & Engagement
Support preparation of donor-ready materials such as case studies, success stories, pitch decks, and impact briefs.
Assist with donor correspondence, acknowledgements, newsletters, and follow-up communications.
Help maintain positive relationships with donors through timely and professional communication.
Fundraising Campaigns & Events
Support planning and implementation of fundraising campaigns, events, and online giving initiatives.
Contribute to digital and social-media-based fundraising content in collaboration with communications staff.
Data Management & Internal Coordination
Maintain and update donor databases, trackers, and fundraising records to ensure accuracy and timely follow-up.
Track donor reporting requirements and timelines, and support the Resource Mobilization team to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant submission of narrative and financial reports.
Coordinate with program and finance teams to gather information required for proposals, reports, and donor updates.
Support internal documentation and learning related to fundraising activities.
Other Duties
Perform any other assigned tasks to support organizational goals.
Required Qualifications
Recent graduate or final-year student in Project Management, Social Sciences, Communications, Business, International Relations, or a related field.
Strong interest in fundraising, donor relations, and nonprofit sustainability.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Basic understanding of NGOs, donor funding, or development work is an added advantage.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and respect for confidentiality.
