Business Development Manager (Health)

Role Purpose

The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for growing the corporate medical business profitably, meeting set annual premium targets, and ensuring the successful management of client relationships, tenders, and scheme set-ups.

Key Responsibilities

• Business Growth: Grow the medical business against set targets for both new business and retention.
• Client Relationship Management: Enhance and maintain strategic relationships with corporate clients.
• Tender Management: Ensure the timely submission of comprehensive quotations and business tenders.
• Scheme Management: Ensure proper setup and administration of new and renewed medical schemes.
• Pricing & Underwriting: Assist in pricing various products and schemes, and advise on terms of cover to enable accurate underwriting and claims processing.
• Member Engagement: Coordinate presentations to scheme members, including health talks and medical camps.
• Product Development: Assist in product development to ensure offerings remain relevant to market needs.
• Governance: Exercise delegated authority as per the approved matrix and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor of Commerce degree (Marketing option preferred).
• Professional Certifications: Professional qualification in Insurance (ACII, FLMI, or IIK).
• Experience: At least 6-8 years’ experience in insurance sales, with 3–4 years in a supervisory/leadership position.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of insurance regulatory requirements and medical insurance products.
• Skills: Proven sales and marketing management skills.
