Role Overview
Amentum is seeking a Food Service Worker to serve as a cafeteria and/or delicatessen/bakery worker assisting in the preparation, presentation, and serving of specialty meats, delicacies, preserved foods, cheeses, salads, breads, and sweets to patrons. This role requires working in a fast-paced environment, handling various food preparation tasks, and providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
Food Preparation: Using prepared ingredients and following routine, repetitive steps to make hot and/or cold sandwiches, fruit and vegetable trays, salads, and rotisserie chicken.
Customer Service: Greet customers as they arrive at the service counter, take special orders, and answer basic customer questions about specialty foods.
Sanitation: Clean counters and trays, wash dishes, and maintain cleanliness of preparation, work, and display areas; inspect and clean equipment.
Bakery Support: Assist in measuring and mixing ingredients, as well as preparing, cooking, and decorating breads, rolls, pastries, cakes, and other bakery items.
Stock Management: Receive and unload trucks, and properly store stock.
Transactions: Take payments and make change for customers.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: Professional Certificate in a relevant field.
Experience: 1+ years' experience as a food service worker in the food service industry.
Certifications: ServeSafe Certification is preferred.
Previous Experience: Prior experience as a busboy, washer, waiter, cook, or in a similar role is an advantage.
Requirements and Skills
Able to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
Physical endurance to stand for an entire shift and lift up to 25 pounds or more.
Self-motivated, self-directed, and works well both in a team and independently.
Able to read and follow standardized recipes.
Strong knowledge of proper food handling procedures.
Flexibility to work early mornings, nights, and weekends.
