Role Overview
Kempinski Hotels S.A., Europe's oldest luxury hotel group, is seeking a Food and Beverage Trainee for its Nairobi location. This internship is designed for motivated graduates or final-year students looking to build a career in high-end hospitality. Under the guidance of the Departmental Trainer and Training Manager, you will develop practical skills in food service operations, guest relations, and luxury hotel standards.
Key Responsibilities
Service Excellence: Learn and execute professional food and beverage service standards.
Operational Support: Successfully perform opening and closing procedures established for the assigned outlet.
Cleanliness & Organization: Ensure that the place of work and surrounding area is kept clean and organized at all times.
Guest Engagement: Handle guest enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner; report guest feedback and complaints to supervisors for immediate follow-up.
Compliance: Understand and strictly adhere to the hotel’s policy manual and regulations concerning fire, hygiene, health, and safety.
Safety Standards: Adhere to hygiene regulations including HACCP and other hotel-initiated safety protocols.
Team Collaboration: Maintain good rapport and working relationships with staff within the assigned department and the wider hotel.
Professional Development: Attend and contribute to all scheduled staff meetings and departmental training sessions.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Degree or Diploma in Food and Beverage service from a recognized learning institution.
Experience: No prior work experience is required; however, applicants must have completed their coursework (even if not yet graduated).
Recency: Must have completed studies within the last year (2025/2026).
Citizenship: Must be a Kenyan Citizen.
Communication: Ability to work and communicate effectively in a multinational environment with good verbal communication skills.
Etiquette: Excellent grooming skills and well-versed in professional and personal etiquette.
Attitude: Outgoing personality with a positive learning attitude.
