Job Description
Role Overview
The Fleet Manager is responsible for the overall performance, utilization, and profitability of the fleet. This role leads and coordinates the fleet team across rider onboarding, live operations, rider support, and asset management, ensuring all components work seamlessly to achieve revenue, utilization, and service quality targets.
Key Responsibilities
Fleet Operations & Revenue Performance
Own fleet performance against revenue, order completion, and utilization targets.
Ensure optimal deployment of riders and assets to maximize daily and weekly revenue.
Track and improve KPIs including Asset utilization rate, Active rider rate, Orders per rider per day, and Revenue per asset.
Identify performance gaps and implement corrective actions quickly.
Team Leadership & Coordination
Lead and manage the fleet team across Rider Onboarding, Live Operations, Rider Support, and Asset Management.
Ensure clear roles, targets, and accountability across all sub-teams.
Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching, and capacity planning.
Ensure strong collaboration between teams to avoid operational silos.
Rider Onboarding & Activation
Ensure timely and efficient onboarding of riders in line with growth targets.
Guarantee 100% account creation and platform activation for onboarded riders.
Ensure riders are fully equipped with assets, safety gear, and system access before activation.
Monitor onboarding quality to reduce early churn and performance drop-off.
Live Operations Management
Oversee daily fleet operations to ensure high rider online availability, strong acceptance/completion rates, and on-time deliveries.
Monitor real-time performance dashboards and field operations.
Resolve operational issues that impact service levels or revenue.
Rider Support & Retention
Ensure riders receive timely and effective support across operations, payments, and assets.
Track rider satisfaction, retention, and churn metrics.
Implement initiatives to improve rider engagement, productivity, and loyalty.
Act as an escalation point for complex rider or operational issues.
Asset Management & Control
Oversee the full asset lifecycle: allocation, tracking, utilization, recovery, and maintenance.
Ensure 100% tracker installation and asset visibility.
Maintain high asset uptime and minimal downtime.
Ensure proper documentation and accountability for all fleet assets.
Work closely with the asset team to minimize losses and maximize recovery.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Produce regular reports on fleet performance, revenue, utilization, and risks.
Use data to inform operational decisions and improvement initiatives.
Continuously optimize processes to support scale and cost efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
5+ years’ experience in fleet operations, logistics, mobility, or last-mile delivery.
Strong understanding of rider-based or asset-heavy business models.
Data-driven with strong analytical and reporting skills.
