Role Purpose
The main purpose of this role is to improve Unifi’s financial status by analyzing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends, and recommending strategic actions to management. You will be responsible for the production of financial reports and the development of plans for the company's long-term financial goals.
Core Roles and Responsibilities
Financial Performance: Drive performance by monitoring variances, identifying trends, and recommending corrective actions.
Financial Reporting: Produce accurate, timely financial reports and develop strategies aligned with long-term goals.
Account Maintenance: Maintain and reconcile key balance sheet accounts, including oversight of the Fixed Assets Register and general ledger alignment.
Treasury and Cash Flow: Lead cash flow planning and manage treasury operations to ensure financial stability.
Strategic Insight: Provide analysis and advice on business strategies, acting as a liaison between the finance function and operational teams.
Project Management: Design and implement financial projects that drive process improvement.
Operational Integrity: Own the integrity of operational reconciliations and accounts impacted by day-to-day business activities.
Risk Management: Identify and escalate financial risks and process inefficiencies.
Team Leadership: Lead, manage, and develop the finance team to meet performance standards.
Compliance: Ensure full compliance with regulatory reporting mandated by the KRA, CBK, and other regulatory bodies.
Partner Integrations: Lead integrations with banks and partners to foster various methods of collections.
Contract Negotiation: Review and assess vendor and service contracts, negotiating terms for cost efficiency and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Essential professional accounting qualification: CPA (K), ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar finance role, ideally within a high-growth environment.
Strong analytical and numerical skills to distill complex data into clear insights.
Proven experience in negotiating terms and managing relationships with banks and suppliers.
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Entrepreneurial energy and resilience suited to a dynamic, pan-African business context.
