TakaTaka Solutions is a leading waste management and recycling company that achieves one of the highest recycling rates globally by processing 95% of collected waste. We are seeking a Field Officer - Sourcing to manage the procurement of recyclable materials and achieve monthly sourcing targets. The role plays a critical part in our supply chain, ensuring a steady and high-quality flow of materials for our recycling operations. This involves working closely with waste pickers and aggregators, conducting market research, and supervising a team to meet organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Sourcing Targets: Consistently achieve monthly quality and quantity sourcing targets for recyclable materials.
Procurement Management: Oversee the purchase of recyclable materials from waste pickers at assigned Buyback Centres (BBC), ensuring adherence to quality Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Supplier Management: Onboard new waste pickers and maintain healthy relationships with existing suppliers through regular check-ins.
Grievance Resolution: Address and resolve waste picker grievances, maintaining an updated tracker and reporting resolutions to the BBC Manager.
Market Research: Conduct comprehensive market research and surveys on all recyclable materials, focusing on market dynamics, pricing, and new product opportunities.
Operations & Logistics: Update daily expected delivery schedules and coordinate with BBC supervisors and operations teams.
Team Leadership: Supervise Assistant Field Officers, holding daily briefs and ensuring all tasks are executed efficiently.
Strategic Reporting: Prepare and update delivery and target trackers, and provide suggestions for cost-cutting initiatives and quality improvements.
Financial Oversight: Manage budgets for sourcing activities and propose new procurement models to enhance quality and efficiency.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: A Diploma in Business Management or a related field.
Industry Experience: Prior experience in the waste recycling industry or a related field is required.
Business Knowledge: Strong understanding of different types of recyclable materials and recycling market dynamics.
Strategic Skills: Proficient in sales and sourcing strategies with a focus on market intelligence.

Negotiation: Strong ability to negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers.
Marketing: Skills in promoting the company's buyback services to waste pickers.
