Working closely with the Business Growth & Development Manager, the Universal Banker will ensure implementation of sales and business growth strategies while maintaining the quality of the MSME book. The role holder will identify business growth opportunities, acquire clients in their area of jurisdiction, provide support through Faulu Business Account opening, manage daily utilization towards future lending, and build a sizeable portfolio in both deposits and MSME, ensuring an excellent client experience.\n\n### Key Measurable Goals\n* Achievement of quality portfolio to meet targets (<3 % for above 30 days and nil for below 30 days).\n* Timely loan recovery and follow-ups to minimize delinquencies and improve portfolio.\n* Client acquisition, increase rate of MSME loan uptake and relationship management.\n* Increase revenues through cross selling of other bank products e.g. sale of cheque books, mobile banking enrolment.\n* Active Deposit Mobilization to meet set targets.\n\n### Key Responsibilities\n* Proactively market and generate business through client recruitment, deposit mobilization and disbursement.\n* Conduct regular visits and follow-ups with customers to ensure satisfaction and foster long-term relationships.\n* Maintain up to date records of all customer visits for all customers.\n* Cross sell all Faulu products and services to both existing and potential clients.\n* Drive business growth initiatives including marketing activities, new business signups, and new partnerships.\n* Prepare credit appraisals and analysis and present to the Branch Credit Committee meetings for further review and recommendations.\n* Adhere to current procedures, processes, memos and circulars as issued.\n* Provide ongoing support to Remote Sales Consultants to enhance their productivity and effectiveness.\n* Address all customer queries within stipulated Service Level Agreements (SLAs).\n* Monitor the portfolio quality on a daily basis and proactively institute remedial actions.\n* Promote Digital Banking adoption by onboarding and supporting customers on usage of platforms (Digi Cash, Internet Banking, USSD Code).\n* Liaison with the branch leadership team and local authorities (e.g., chiefs, opinion leaders) to reinforce loan collections.\n* Monitor and report unusual and suspicious transactions to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO).\n* Implement and enforce board-approved AML, KYC & CFT policies.\n\n### Qualifications and Experience\n* Business related degree from a recognized university.\n* Accounts Qualification Section 4 of CPAs.\n* At least 4 years as a Universal Banker specifically dealing with MSME loans.\n* Lending hands-on experience of at least 3 years.\n* Master's degree (not a requirement).\n\n### Skills and Competencies\n* Business management and credit management skills.\n* Supervisory skills.\n* Good communication and interpersonal skills.\n* Strong team leader and player.\n\n### How to Apply\nInterested and qualified candidates should apply online via the Old Mutual career portal at .
