Job Description
Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral & Research Hospital (KUTRRH) is seeking a highly specialized ENT Surgeon – Rhinology (Anterior Skull Base) to join its team. This role is focused on providing advanced rhinology and anterior skull base care, including endoscopic surgery, in collaboration with neurosurgery and other medical specialties. The successful candidate will work at our leading National Referral Hospital located along the Northern Bypass Road near Kahawa West, Nairobi.
Responsibilities
Diagnose and manage complex rhinologic and anterior skull base diseases, including chronic rhinosinusitis and neoplasms.
Perform endoscopic sinus and skull base procedures within the credentialed scope.
Coordinate peri-operative care with neurosurgery, radiology, oncology, and anaesthesia.
Establish protocols for image-guided surgery, hemostasis, and CSF leak management.
Provide outpatient clinics and inpatient consults, including emergency management of complications.
Contribute to Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) tumour boards and care planning.
Teach and mentor trainees in advanced rhinology.
Lead audits, outcomes tracking, and research in rhinology/skull base surgery.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from an institution recognized by KMPDC.
MMed in ENT, Head & Neck Surgery/Otorhinolaryngology or equivalent qualification from an institution recognized by KMPDC.
Fellowship or sub-specialty training in Rhinology/Anterior Skull Base Surgery recognized by KMPDC.
Registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
Recognition as a specialist or sub-specialist by KMPDC.
Retention in the KMPDC register with a valid Practice License.
Valid Indemnity Cover.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Compliance with Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
