This is a practical, hands-on role for someone seeking to understand what makes a book readable, credible, and publishable.
Key Responsibilities
Book Layout & Typesetting: Format and typeset manuscripts according to Eword's operating procedures and client specifications. Ensure consistent use of fonts, margins, line spacing, paragraph indentation, and chapter headings throughout each book.
Print-Ready File Preparation: Prepare final book files to professional print specifications, including correct page sizes, bleed settings, and resolution standards required for offset and digital printing.
Style Consistency: Apply and maintain uniform formatting standards across all sections of a manuscript, including front matter, body text, footnotes, headers, footers, and back matter.
Client File Handling & Quality Checks: Receive, organize, and process manuscript files from clients. Conduct thorough visual reviews of formatted documents to identify and correct layout errors, widows, orphans, inconsistent spacing, and other typographic issues before final sign-off.
