As an ECDE Teacher at Nyaanyaa Primary, you will be responsible for the holistic nurturing and education of young learners. The role involves creating a structured and supportive environment where children can thrive through play-based and instructional techniques. You will be expected to implement the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), maintain detailed records of student progress, and ensure a safe, healthy environment for all learners.
Duties and Responsibilities
To nurture young learners holistically through teaching and mentoring.
Develop schedules and enforce routines for learners, ensuring adequate physical activities and rest.
Develop schemes of work and lesson notes in accordance with educational standards.
Manage the registration of learners and maintain accurate progress and health reports.
Liaise with the Ministry of Health for student deworming and other health-related interventions.
Maintain a safe, comfortable, and age-appropriate ECDE learning environment.
Provide appropriate supervision and discipline for young children.
Communicate student behavior and developmental progress to parents or guardians through regular reports.
Utilize play and instructional techniques such as storytelling and rhyming games to enhance the learning process.
Identify and cater to the specific needs of learners with special needs.
Sensitize the community regarding the importance of Early Years Education (EYE).
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head Teacher or Sub-County Officers.
Requirements for Appointment
Must be registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and possess a valid TSC number.
Minimum academic qualification of KCSE Grade D+ and above.
Must be a trained ECDE teacher with a minimum professional qualification (Certificate in Early Childhood Education from the Ministry of Education or KNEC); a Diploma is an added advantage.
Must be fluent and eloquent in the National official languages.
Must be 45 years of age or below.
Demonstrated competency in the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).
Minimum of three (3) years of working experience in an ECDE Center or equivalent environment.
Must be computer literate.
