As an Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) Teacher at Munyekii Feeder, you will be responsible for the holistic development and nurturing of young learners. This role involves academic instruction using modern techniques like storytelling and rhyming games, mentoring, maintaining health records, and ensuring a safe learning environment. You will play a pivotal role in implementing the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) and acting as a bridge between the school, parents, and the community to promote early years education.
Responsibilities
Nurture young learners holistically to ensure their physical, mental, and emotional growth.
Perform teaching duties and mentor learners in their early educational stages.
Develop comprehensive schemes of work and detailed lesson notes.
Establish schedules and enforce routines for learners, ensuring a balance of physical activities and rest.
Manage learner registration and maintain accurate progress and health reports.
Liaise with the Ministry of Health for student wellness initiatives, such as deworming programs.
Maintain a safe, comfortable, and conducive ECDE learning environment.
Provide age-appropriate supervision and implement positive discipline.
Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding learners' behavior and developmental progress.
Utilize play-based instructional techniques, including storytelling and rhyming games, to enhance engagement.
Address the specific requirements of learners with special needs.
Sensitize the community on the importance of Early Years Education (EYE).
Execute any other duties assigned by the Head Teacher or Sub-County Officers.
Qualifications and Requirements
Must be registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and possess a valid TSC number.
Minimum academic qualification of KCSE grade D+ and above.
Professional qualification: Certificate in Early Childhood Education from the Ministry of Education or KNEC; a Diploma is considered an added advantage.
Minimum of three (3) years of working experience in an ECDE Center or an equivalent environment.
Proficiency and eloquence in the National official languages.
Must be 45 years of age or below.
Strong competency in the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).
Must be computer literate.
