Role Overview\n\nThe ECDE Teacher for Mathunthini Primary is responsible for nurturing young learners holistically and providing a foundation for their education. This role involves teaching, mentoring, and ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of students in an Early Childhood Development and Education (ECDE) setting.\n\n### Duties and Responsibilities\n\n* Nurture young learners holistically, focusing on their physical, social, and emotional growth.\n* Deliver lessons and provide guidance to learners to support their early education.\n* Develop schedules and enforce routines for learners, ensuring they have adequate physical activities and rest.\n* Develop schemes of work and lesson notes in alignment with curriculum standards.\n* Ensure registration of learners and maintain accurate progress and health reports.\n* Coordinate with the Ministry of Health for deworming and other health-related initiatives.\n* Maintain a safe, comfortable, and conducive ECDE learning environment.\n* Provide age-appropriate supervision and discipline to ensure a safe learning space.\n* Communicate learners’ behavior and development progress to parents or guardians through regular reports.\n* Utilize play-based and instructional techniques such as storytelling and rhyming games to enhance learning outcomes.\n* Address and cater to the unique requirements of learners with special needs.\n* Sensitize the community on the importance of Early Years Education (EYE).\n* Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head Teacher or Sub-County Officers.\n\n### Requirements for Appointment\n\n* Must be registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and possess a valid TSC number.\n* Minimum academic qualification of KCSE D+ and above.\n* Trained ECDE teacher with a minimum professional qualification (Certificate in Early Childhood Education from the Ministry of Education or KNEC). A Diploma qualification is an added advantage.\n* Fluent and eloquent in the National official Languages.\n* Should be 45 years of age and below.\n* Competency in the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).\n* Minimum of three (3) years of working experience in an ECDE Center or equivalent.\n* Must be computer literate.\n\n### How to Apply\n\nInterested and qualified candidates should apply online through the Machakos County Public Service Board portal.
