This role involves the holistic nurturing and education of young learners at the Kwa Kalunde ECDE center within Machakos County. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, mentoring, and maintaining a safe learning environment while implementing the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC). You will play a vital role in the foundational years of education, ensuring children are well-prepared for their academic journey through play-based and instructional techniques.\n\n### Duties and Responsibilities\n* Nurture young learners holistically and provide age-appropriate supervision and discipline.\n* Deliver lessons and mentor learners using instructional techniques such as storytelling and rhyming games to enhance learning.\n* Develop schedules, schemes of work, and lesson notes. Enforce routines for learners to ensure adequate physical activity and rest.\n* Maintain accurate progress and health reports for all learners and communicate behavior and development to parents or guardians.\n* Maintain a safe and comfortable ECDE learning environment and liaise with the Ministry of Health for health-related issues like deworming.\n* Ensure proper registration of learners and address the needs of learners with special requirements.\n* Sensitize the local community on the importance of Early Years Education (EYE).\n* Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head Teacher or Sub-County Officers.\n\n### Requirements for Appointment\n* Must be registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and possess a valid TSC number.\n* Minimum academic qualification of D+ and above in KCSE.\n* Must be a trained ECDE teacher with a minimum professional qualification (Certificate in Early Childhood Education) from the Ministry of Education or KNEC. A Diploma qualification is an added advantage.\n* Fluent and eloquent in the National official languages.\n* Must be 45 years of age and below.\n* Demonstrated competency in the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).\n* At least three (3) years of working experience in an ECDE Center or an equivalent environment.\n* Must be computer literate.
